Duplicate Line Remover
Use this tool →
Clean up lists instantly — remove duplicates, sort, and trim in seconds.
No — the tool removes duplicate lines. Each line is treated as one item. If you have duplicates within a single line (like repeated words), use the Word Counter's frequency panel or a text editor's find-and-replace.
There is no hard limit. The tool handles tens of thousands of lines without issues since it runs entirely in your browser. Very large inputs (millions of lines) may be slow due to browser memory limits.
The first occurrence is always kept. Subsequent duplicates are removed. If you enable sorting, the list is sorted first, so the alphabetically earliest occurrence is kept.
Yes. Numeric entries are treated as text strings. '10' and '10 ' (with a trailing space) are different unless you enable whitespace trimming. Numeric sorting is not available — the sort is always alphabetical/lexicographic, so 10 sorts before 2.
Not directly — the tool works line by line. For comma-separated values, replace commas with line breaks first (use find-and-replace in a text editor), deduplicate, then replace line breaks back with commas.
Yes, unless you enable a sort option. Without sorting, the order is preserved and only duplicates after the first occurrence are removed.
