Favicon Generator
Use this tool →
Turn any emoji or letter into a favicon — download ICO, PNG, and SVG in one click.
The minimum set: favicon.svg (scales to any size), favicon-32x32.png (browser tabs, legacy), apple-touch-icon.png at 180×180 (iOS bookmarks). For PWAs: 192×192 and 512×512 PNGs. The generator exports all of these.
Not for modern browsers. The .ico format (which can contain multiple resolutions in one file) was the original standard but is now largely superseded by SVG and PNG favicons. If you need IE11 support, add a favicon.ico file, but for most modern sites SVG + PNG is sufficient.
Blurriness at 16px usually means the favicon has too much detail — fine lines, gradients, or small text that do not render cleanly at tiny sizes. Simplify the design: use a single bold shape, letter, or emoji with high contrast.
Yes — the generator supports any Unicode emoji that your system can render. Emoji rendering varies slightly between operating systems (Apple, Google, and Microsoft each have their own emoji designs), so the favicon will look slightly different on macOS vs Windows vs Android.
In WordPress, go to Appearance → Customize → Site Identity → Site Icon. Upload the 512×512 PNG. WordPress automatically creates smaller versions. For more control, upload the HTML snippet files manually to your theme or use the Insert Headers and Footers plugin.
A web manifest (site.webmanifest) is a JSON file that defines how a Progressive Web App appears when installed on a device — including its name, icons, theme colour, and display mode. It is required for PWA installation prompts. Create a basic site.webmanifest referencing your 192×192 and 512×512 icons.
